Discipleship

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he commanded his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. We believe that this commission is for us as well! Here at City Church, we define discipleship as progressively submitting every area of life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ (and helping others do the same). We have several ministries to help us pursue this calling.

Children’s Sunday School
Our Children’s Sunday School has classes for kids birth through Grade 5 from 9-10 am on Sunday mornings (September through May). In our kids’ Sunday School, we use New Growth Press’s The Gospel Story curriculum to teach the whole of Scripture in an accessible, Biblically-based way that is also family friendly for parents that want to extend what’s happening on Sunday into family time.

Other questions about Children’s Ministry? Contact Maire Schultz, our Family Ministries Coordinator & Deacon.

Youth Group

Coming Soon! In addition to our Youth Sunday School Class (grades 6-8), we’re excited to begin the formation of a youth group in the coming years. Contact us if you’ve got an interested Student or if you’d like to volunteer!

Adult Sunday School
Our adult Sunday School class is for everyone 9th grade and up and it meets Sunday mornings from 9-10 am (September through May). We study Scripture, Christian Beliefs, Literature, Apologetics—all in service of knowing the Lord and being well-equipped to live all of life for his glory and to bless our City. Let Elder Joe Gruneisen know if you’ve got questions or would like to join in! Of course, you can always just show up—we’d love to see you on Sunday morning!

Community Groups
Our Community Groups ministry exists to help us make discipleship a reality in our everyday lives as we grow in gospel maturity as a community of believers through prayer, Bible-study, fellowship and spiritual-friendship and for us to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to our neighborhoods with genuine hospitality and care. Each of our six groups is organized primarily geographically (that is, we encourage people whenever possible to join the group closest to where they live). Questions? Want to join a group? Contact Justin McLaury for more info.

Women’s Ministry
Our Women’s Ministry puts together wonderful opportunities for the women of City Church to build friendships, study God’s Word, and be equipped to love and serve others in the gospel. We host short-term Bible Studies, worship nights, retreats, and connection opportunities (like the ever-popular Coffee for Four!). Check out the calendar page on our website for what’s coming up next or email our Women’s Ministry team with your questions.

Men’s Ministry
Coming Soon! Launching Spring 2022, our Men’s Ministry will offer a chance for the men of City Church to encourage one another as we seek to grow as leaders and servants in all areas of our lives. Our first event will be reading Man Up! by Jeffrey Hemmer followed by a retreat. Contact Elder Rick Garrett with questions or to get involved!
